War Thunder is the largest free-to-play multiplayer online game featuring military vehicles from the early 20th century until present time. Aviation, ground vehicles, and naval forces fight together in one game and even in one battle, just as the real-life battles were fought. The appearance and characteristics of the vehicles in War Thunder are historically accurate, and their damage models are physically based.

In War Thunder, you will find more than 2000 recreated models of aircraft, helicopters, ships, and both wheeled and tracked armoured vehicles. We are constantly working on adding more units to the game. New updates with modern prototypes and with models of vehicles from both WWII and the Cold War periods are released regularly. You can find the list of all currently available vehicles at wiki-page: wiki.warthunder.com

Overall: Money talks, and time is money, usually so:7 years in, and over 80 dollars invested in premium tanks and premium account. As of writing this i have killed SEVEN THOUSAND players.7000 kills and i am probably at least another year of playing off from reaching tier V vehicles!!I Pose this question directly to Gaijin: tell us, how long should a paying player play for before they actually get to see any end-game content?a decade? This game is fun as a casual time-waster but PLEASE do NOT invest money into this game as it will get you nowhere, but faster.Besides the economy is disgusting- you can pay over $50 for ONE vehicle which you can use ONCE per game of tier V.Unless research and purchase costs of EVERYTHING above rank II is halved, I cannot honestly tell any other players of this game that they can ever hope to get far without dedicating hours a day 365 days a year to this.Aside from this LDS/DMT -influenced economy my next biggest issue is with cheating. While usually i hate cheating, i feel sorry for the WT cheaters as I actually think they don't do it out of malice but are actually just trying to combat the Gaijin/greed economy to try unlock something at other players' expense more than it is about winning or rank. I have heard many players considering paying for aimbots or cheats of some kind as you quite literally have very little hope of getting anywhere in this grind-a-thon.If the cheaters who can shoot through boulders, houses, hills and other unbreakable objects don't annoy you, every second person seems to be of such a noob level they kamikaze their free expendable planes into your tanks (which you must pay to repair in this already biased economy lol, further setting you back on your long road to nowhere)nothing like driving for 10 minutes through the country trying to apply some tactics only to have a spitfire crash into you dropping its bomb 1s before impact because why not? one free kill gets you closer to unlocking your abrams or leclerc or starfighter or whatever other delusion you have.Matchmaking is another extremely painful mechanic even for the experienced player:you are almost always fighting tanks/planes/ships 1-2 battle ratings higher.Get used to situations where a few players with way better vehicles are in your game- you will know them when all your rounds bounce because you are not equipped to face your enemy as GAIJIN at the last second shoves you into an unfair game.Look at the stats to see a t34 with 10+ kills almost every other game because of some kind of bias which shall not be named and because the T34 is being put against your post WW1 edition tank with a 50mm.GAIJIN has built unfairness into the game and rewards players- you get post match awards when you kill enemies with unfairly higher-tier vehicles.almost every game i get "Rank does not matter" award which shows I have killed someone with a tank at least 1-2 ranks higher than me.The events can be fun but seriously don't be dumb and expect them to be any less of a grind than the main game, good luck getting anything worthwhile from them.Loot boxes which you can open with keys during events @ 60 000 lions per key& box combo more often than not return you 10 000 lions, you have it seems a 1/10 chance to make a profit on them-don't throw your hard earned lions away on evil gaijin gambling guys.If you like war, are a masochist or you are in prison and have access to this game or alternatively if you are immortal and thus have unlimited time i would then suggest you try this game seriously.Otherwise this games inner workings make as much sense as actual Russian battle plans.

Cons: Server issues are on going and not likely to be addressed. During even moderate usage by players, the game is unplayable. Game may start out just fine, but at some point in a match the server becomes overloaded resulting in a sharp fall in fps (frames per second) causing the game graphics to stutter badly often resulting in a "freeze frame bounce" of a player from the game by the server. This is a common occurrence. On heavy usage nights, servers also have a hard time maintaining connections leading to a player being bounced from the game.

Overall: Criticism for this game is not based on how bad it is but how good it could be if the makers could be bothered. The Amazing attention to physics detail regarding armour, ballistics and tank modeling is overshadowed by a lame level system that will send you out in a mixed team of Axis and Allied tanks, form all eras in some random map which may be WW2 or Modern, so be prepared to see your WW2 Tiger Tank in the Jungles of 70s Vietnam fighting, 1970s Amx's and British Centurions etc. This becomes more pronounced at tier 5 and ridiculous at tier 6. Aircraft also ruin this game in Tier 5 simply hitting you with a "Game over strike for no fault other than simply being on the map as does being sniped at from miles away by players you cannot physically see. It becomes tiresome.I payed to play this game up to Level 5 but it's an abrupt and sudden "No more" from me. Play this game but DO NOT PAY. It's ultimately not worth it. It's a good free game but ruined by lame and lazy developers.
